NOTES
● Headie One -Edna was released in October and hit #1 on the UK album
charts. Kenny Beats, Drake, Future, Skepta, and Stormzy all appear. Does
this fit as an important pop rap album in 2020?
● Bree Runway-2000AND4EVA is signed to Virgin/EMI and at 27 just put out
her debut album with Missy Elliott and Rico Nasty featuring. Wikipedia
says She cites Lil’ Kim , Britney Spears , Madonna , Missy Elliott , Pharrell , Kelis , Lady
Gaga and The Neptunes as her biggest influences.
● SonnyJim x Must Volkoff-Taylor Made Ostrich. SonnyJim has been
relentless this year. He has a collaboration album with Vic Spencer
called Iron Wigs. He even dropped an ep with Conway back in 2018.
Basically, he raps like a mastermind with no concern for hits.
● Leafdog-Live From The Balrog Chamber. This is from January and is
particularly interesting because of the hall of fame MCs it features:
Havoc from Mobb Deep, Edo G, Grand Puba, and Thurston Howl III. This is
really dedicated UK Boom Bap.
