SUPERLATIVES
- If I had to name a top guest verse MC of 2023 it would be Blu. For someone as important to the history of independent rap as Blu he’s hungry for any microphone near him. Stunning features on The Wire S3 E1 with Open Mike Eagle and Uknowhut? With Stik Figa. Wherever Blu popped up he was out for blood. Engaging with each song with the care and emphasis normally reserved for his own tracks.
- A few MC’s who showed signs of a very bright future in 2023: Unruly burly savage delivery on Don’t Go Outside, Sunmundi power punch introspection on Midnight Oil, The dizzying flow of Patty Honcho on The Blaxploitation.
