#Bandcampgold review-Solid Chunks of Energy by Jake McKelvie & The Countertops
#Bandcampgold review-Solid Chunks of Energy by Jake McKelvie & The Countertops by Dan-O Lyricism is so incredible because it can’t successfully be hidden. If you are really intent to find it you’ll be able to identify it. It’s not necessarily about the depth of the idea, but its vivid illustration. Jake McKelvie has that in…

#Bandcampgold review-Leave It To Believers by Johnny Cremains
#Bandcampgold review-Leave It To Believers by Johnny Cremains by Dan-O If Ballerina’s come back from the dead to kill the living, Johnny Cremains should play that event. To call their sound dark would shamefully disregard the sonic space created. During any Johnny Cremains song you’re not just hearing guitar drums and bass but theremin and…

Audio Push and the soft resurgence of Native Tongues cool consciousness
Audio Push and the soft resurgence of Native Tongues cool consciousness by Dan-O Hip hop is waves and counter-waves; it survives because every successful movement is so hated by another portion of the culture that its opposition immediately garners prominence as a counter point. #ThemostBandcampGold-Sinister Vibes by Afraid
#ThemostBandcampGold-Sinister Vibes by Afraid by Dan-O I have specifically not reviewed a lot of music that I loved just because I didn’t feel like my words were good enough to capture its flavor. Sometimes I really regret it, couldn’t let that happen with Sinister Vibes. I’ve been making a concerted effort to highlight more of…

#Bandcampgold-Bubblegum Graveyard by Apache Dropout
#Bandcampgold-Bubblegum Graveyard by Apache Dropout by Dan-O So I had no idea who Apache Dropout was until a few weeks ago; while scouring the internet for stuff to listen to I found a series that Paste Magazine had done years ago trying to find the best bands in each state, http://www.pastemagazine.com/tag/50_states_project. By the time…

#BandcampGold-Interrobang by Jargon Party
#BandcampGold-Interrobang by Jargon Party by Dan-O You could pour what I know about the Emo music movement into a thimble and have room left. What I do know and enjoy is surf rock from The Ventures to Surfer Blood. The new EP from Jargon Party, Interrobang, is Emo taken to the beach and lightyears different…
