Re-up Gang-20k Money Making Brothers on the Corner
When coke rap really gained steam I fell for it. Not because I’m a fan of cocaine. I’ve never done any drug in my life… I just wanted to see how many different metaphors would come out of this. The Re-up gang was the absolute height of coke metaphor, not only did it include the originators Malice and Pusha T but Ab-Liva and underrated member Sandman. 20k Money Making Brothers on the Corner is the mantra for why the heck you would devote your music to coke/snow mound pitching in such an unrelenting fashion. For Pusha to have the nerve to say he’s not part of “your coke rap genre”was especially hilarious, as if George Washington could break up with America.
Sadly this unit would not last as composed. After this We Got it 4 Cheap they put out a really bad album that Sandman said he didn’t approve of and he left. Pusha got Kanye poached and Malice is now called No Malice. For my money if you want the thumping power and disgusted indignation of coke rap in one song you want this one.
