Song of The Year-GA Dialect(feat. Couleen Lagon) produced by DJ Burn One and Cy Fyre
by Dan-O
Scotty is another artist who I thought I didn’t like but the more I saw the cover of his #FAITH mixtape on the coming soon section of Livemixtapes.com the more I found myself looking forward too it. Being an entirely DJ Burn One affair I knew the beats were going to be solid at minimum and amazing with any luck. Scotty is not an easy rapper to get used too, his southern accent is so pronounced that at times you question if he’s making it all the way through words. His versatility of subject matter is interesting on #FAITH bouncing from community awareness to Pimp music. It has a must hear group track with Killa Kyleon and Starlito as well as some solid appearances by Trinidad James. DJ Burn One knows exactly how to get the best out of him and this song is the best example with fantastic harmonica and a stupendous hook from Couleen Lagon. This song binds the street hustling that is so often bragged about (not everyone brags about selling candy in 9th grade though) to southern blues heritage. If you support underground hip hop I’m not sure why you aren’t downloading whatever the Burn One collective drops, these guys are all really talented and not nearly well known enough.
